Saturday, February 8 - Arrival in New York and Welcome Reception
~ Depart from your hometown for New York City. Manage your own transportation, or let us assist you in arranging air tickets and airport/hotel transfers. Upon arrival in New York, check into our great hotel: The 4-star Hotel Martinique which is located just one block from the evening dog show activities, has two great on-site restaurants, and is where many of the show dogs stay! This is a great location offering lots of pre and post dog show interaction.
After you’re settled in, enjoy the sights of the city as you choose… select from the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, explore Greenwich Village or the art galleries in SoHo, shop Fifth Avenue, enjoy fabulous Central Park, hit the museums – this city has something for everyone and the professionals at Huron Tours will assist with your New York City plans.
This evening join your fellow Huron Tours travelers for our included welcome reception. This event is a wonderful chance to mingle and enjoy some good company complete with hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Afterward, the evening will be free to explore the city, have a light dinner, or catch a Broadway show.

Sunday, February 9 - Hound and Herding Breed Judging
~ New for 2020 - an extra day of breed judging! After our pleasant evening together last night ((and included breakfast this morning) we jump right into the action with Hound and Herding breed judging at Pier 94, as well as the Master's Obedience Championship. Our very convenient "front door" private shuttle service will bring you from our hotel right to Pier 94 for all the action.
Pier 94 has all the dog show breed judging, benching and grooming areas, as well as wonderful vendors and an expanded Westminster Kennel Club merchandise area for great souvenirs and presents for friends back home not lucky enough to join us in person. Last year the hot sales item was a beautiful WKC fleece blanket that went fast.
At the end of the day, or when you've seen enough, you'll meet our scheduled private hotel shuttle that will transport you easily back to our great hotel. This evening is free - a great evening to catch a classic broadway performance (click here for a list), or dine in one of New York's famous restaurants.

Monday and Tuesday, February 10 & 11 and - Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show
~ Both Monday and Tuesday are Westminster Kennel Club dog show days! Although this year’s activities will take place at two separate locations, Piers 92/94 and Madison Square Garden, we’ve made transferring easy with our private shuttle service. You can see the dogs compete at the Piers during the morning and afternoon and then be transferred back to your hotel when you're ready for a break. For the evening sessions we’ll escort you over to Madison Square Garden to catch all the action. Because we have been working with the Westminster Kennel Club for so many years, we are able to provide you with excellent seats for all the showings, including the nationally televised Best in Show on Tuesday evening.
Westminster is just as good as you expect it to be and better! It is a dog-lovers paradise as you can meet the dogs and handlers in the benching area, take all the up-close pictures you desire, watch all the dogs being groomed and shop for great quality canine related merchandise in the large marketplace. The different venue for judging during the day means a larger entry limit and even more dogs for 2019! You’ll feel the excitement as more than 3,200 winners compete and the 28 Best of Breeds are selected, whittled down to the 7 Best in Group and then finally only the top dog remains! What a treat to see it all in person.

Wall of Fame at Katz's Deli - on the other side of this wall 3,200lbs of beef is soaking in brine. We highly recommend this for a lunch stop as you explore NYC.
